David Hickey

Dave Hickey is a dynamic, deliberate global leader with more than 30 years of experience in the field of medical technology.

Hickey served as executive vice president and president of the Life Sciences segment of BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) (NYSE: BDX), a leading global medical technology company headquartered in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey. In this role, he oversaw strategy development, global operational, commercial and financial performance of the businesses that comprise the Life Sciences segment (BioSciences, Specimen Management & Diagnostic Solutions) and which spans the continuum of discovery, translation, diagnostics and therapy selection.

Following global roles at Bayer Diagnostics and Siemens Healthcare, Hickey joined BD in 2014 as vice president and general manager for the Clinical Microbiology business. In 2016, he was promoted to president of the Diagnostics Systems business, and in 2019, to worldwide president of the Integrated Diagnostic Solutions unit, which includes the Diagnostic Systems and Specimen Management businesses.

Hickey earned his Medical Laboratory Sciences degree in Clinical Biochemistry from the University of Manchester in the UK, joining the National Health Service upon the completion of his degree.

David J. Shulkin, MD

The Honorable Dr. David J. Shulkin was the ninth Secretary of the US Department of Veterans Affairs in the Trump Administration and VA’s Under Secretary of Health in the Obama Administration. As such, Secretary Shulkin was the only member of the Cabinet to have served both Presidents and to have been confirmed by the US Senate by a vote of 100-0.
Secretary Shulkin is a widely respected healthcare executive having served as chief executive of leading hospitals and health systems including Beth Israel in New York City, Morristown Medical Center in Northern NJ and he currently serves on the Board at Sanford Health, one of the country’s largest rural healthcare systems.
Secretary Shulkin is a board-certified internist. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania, his internship at Yale University School of Medicine, and a residency and Fellowship in General Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Presbyterian Medical Center. He received advanced training in outcomes research and economics as a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania.
Over his career Secretary Shulkin has been named “One Hundred Most Influential People in American Healthcare” by Modern Healthcare. He continues to advocate on behalf of the country’s veterans by serving on the board of numerous nonprofits that serve veterans, is the host of the popular Policy Vets Podcast, and is the author of the recent book, “It Shouldn’t Be This Hard to Serve Your Country: Our Broken Government and the Plight of Veterans”.

Professor Beat Müller, MD

Beat Müller is Full Professor of Internal Medicine and Endocrinology of the Medical Faculty of the University of Basel. He was Medical Director of the University Department, Kantonsspital, Aarau, Switzerland for 15 years. He studied medicine in Berne, Switzerland and South-Africa and did a PostDoc at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA, USA.
His interests focus on pragmatic outcome and quality control studies using hormonal biomarkers in medicine. Obtaining funds of over 20Mio CHF including 8 competitive clinical and experimental SNSF grants, he oversaw research projects focusing on the clinical role and regulation of calcitonin peptides as hormokines during inflammation and infections. He masterminded landmark intervention trials enrolling >4000 patients to validate his concept of a safe and more targeted antibiotic stewardship using procalcitonin in respiratory tract infections.
His research obtained multiple honors and prestigious awards and was disseminated in > 500 publications including all top-ranked journals of medicine, infectious diseases, pulmonary and critical care and, last but not least, endocrinology. He is a member of numerous professional societies and is regularly invited for plenary lectures at congresses both nationally and internationally.

Dalia Argaman

Vice President of Regulatory Affairs & Quality Assurance

Dalia is a Senior Regulatory and Quality Assurance Executive that has led successful global regulatory submission:
US FDA (Class II – 510K and Class III – PMA), EU (CE for class IIa and IIb), Canada, Australia (ARTG), Singapore, Korea (KFDA), Japan (PMDA), Taiwan (TFDA), China (CFDA). Dalia has led RA and QA teams for more than 20 years in various medical device and IVD companies developing products such as : Non-invasive glucose monitoring, contactless vital sign monitoring, robotic surgery for gynaecology applications, bacterial IVD screening and antibiotics susceptibility devices, Shockwave lithotripters and hyperthermia devices. She also has vast experience with establishing company quality systems to comply with ISO13485 and FDA Quality System Regulation (QSR). Leading company through successful Quality Audits (FDA and Notified Body). In her last role, Dalia headed the RA/ QA teams in a leading dental scanner manufacturer. She is also experienced with design and management of clinical trials: Working with physicians and KOL in various disciplines (Hospitalists, Internal Medicine, laboratories, Ob./Gyn and Fertility experts), including running clinical trials with top level US hospitals. She holds a B.Sc. in Chemistry and an M.Sc. in Chemical Physics from Tel Aviv University.

Barak Hershkovitz, MD

Chief Technology Officer and IL Site Lead

Barak leads MeMed’s engineering, product operations, quality, regulatory, and clinical affairs, aiming to deliver cutting-edge products to our customers and partners worldwide. With more than 25 years of leadership experience in both startups and multinationals, Barak has guided interdisciplinary teams through the entire process of innovation—from initial concept to product development, launch, and the creation of new market segments. In his most recent roles, Barak served as the Engineering Executive Director and Israel site lead at General Motors, and as CTO of Better Place, leveraging AI and data science across multiple products. Barak is a certified clinician, a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at the Hebrew University, and is the co-author of over 30 patents.

Kfir Oved, PhD

Kfir has over 15 years of combined industry and academic experience, leading interdisciplinary and multicultural teams combining Applied Immunology, Biochemistry, Engineering, Big Data, and Industrial Design in multiple clinical applications. Kfir co-founded MeMed and served as its Chief Technology Officer. He led the development and clinical validation of the entire MeMed technology suite from initial concept to development completion, including MeMed BV® and MeMed Key®. He holds a B.A. in Biology (Summa Cum Laude), B.Sc. in Medicine (Magna Cum Laude), Ph.D. in Molecular Immunology, and six years training at the Technion-Institute of Technology School of Medicine. He is the co-author of 83 granted and pending patents, the author of 16 peer-reviewed publications, and the recipient of multiple research excellence awards, including the prestigious Gutwirth Excellence Award and the Wolf Award for research students, and was listed as one of the top 25 voices in Precision Medicine for 2019.

Eran Eden, PhD

Eran has been the CEO of MeMed since its inception in 2009, leading it from an idea to a landmark FDA clearance and rapidly growing company. He has 20 years of combined business and academic experience pioneering the development of cutting-edge multidisciplinary technologies that synergize data-science & machine learning, molecular biology and clinical applications. Eran co-founded several highly funded international consortia the mission of which is to develop, clinically validate and commercialize novel technologies for diagnosing patients with infectious diseases and inflammatory disorders. He holds a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering, B.A. in Biology, and M.Sc. in Computer Science from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D. in Systems Biology from the Weizmann Institute of Science, where he was also a lecturer of Data Science. Eran is co-author of over 100 granted patents and pending applications and over 30 peer-reviewed publications and is the recipient of multiple awards including the prestigious GE and Science Prize for Promising Life Scientists.

Ori Hadomi

Chairman of the Board of Directors

Ori Hadomi, with his extensive 28-year career in the global medical device market, notably led Mazor Robotics as CEO from 2003 to 2018. He skillfully steered the company from its nascent stages to significant commercial success, culminating in a pivotal acquisition by Medtronic in 2019. Ori now plays a vital role as VP of Strategic Initiatives & Partnerships at Medtronic and contributes as a founder and chairman to various medical device firms. His earlier achievements include impactful positions at DenX Medical Systems, where he was integral in developing 6D advanced motion tracking technologies. Ori’s academic credentials are equally impressive, holding a B.A. in Chemistry & Economics and an M.Sc. in Industrial Chemistry & Business Administration from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, complemented by his participation in the Tavistok Organizational Consultation & Development Program, specializing in Psychoanalytic – Systemic Approach. His leadership and expertise continue to shape the medical device industry.

Peter Scheu

President, USA

Peter has over 35 years of healthcare experience and brings leadership, strategy development and commercial expertise across numerous provider segments. Peter joined MeMed from LumiraDx, where he served as President, North American Commercial Operations. Previous positions include President North America for Alere Inc (now Abbott Rapid Diagnostics), President Anatomic Pathology for Fisher Scientific (now ThermoFisher), Executive Officer and Group President, Clinical Diagnostics, Apogent Technologies Inc. and various sales and marketing roles with Baxter International. He has held board positions with Borgess Health Alliance (Ascension Health) and Health Industry Distributor Association.

Tal Avziz

Vice President, Global Marketing

Tal has over 15 years of senior Marketing and Product Management leadership experience for disruptive technologies in the healthcare industry. Tal joined MeMed in 2021 to build the product management team and was responsible for the product pipeline, product development roadmap, go-to-market strategy and commercialization of our first FDA cleared MeMed BV test. Prior to joining MeMed, Tal spent 8 years in different product management and leadership roles in Simbionix, responsible for development and deployment of cutting-edge technologies in the field of medical training and virtual-reality simulators. Tal holds both Bachelor of Bio-Medical Engineering and Master of Business Administration from Tel Aviv University.

Mr. Patrick Zhang

Patrick Zhang is an investor at Horizons Ventures, where he primarily covers biotechnology, healthcare and fintech investments, and manages related portfolio companies for Horizons. He was trained as a chemical engineer and worked in a variety of organizations across industries including power utilities, financial services and investment management. Prior to Horizons, Patrick was an investment banker with Morgan Stanley providing financial advisory services on capital raising and cross-border M&A to his clients. Mr. Zhang received his BS degree in Chemical Engineering from UCLA and MBA from Columbia Business School.

Scott Garrett

Scott holds over 35 years of leadership in global healthcare businesses, is a Senior Operating Partner at Water Street, an investor dedicated to building market leaders in healthcare. His extensive background includes serving as chairman, president, and CEO of Beckman Coulter, Inc., where he led substantial growth initiatives. Scott’s career initiated at Baxter International in R&D, progressing to CEO of Baxter’s diagnostics division, and subsequently CEO of Dade Behring, Inc. A notable figure in industry associations, Scott was the founding chairman of AdvaMedDx and continues to influence as chairman emeritus. His governance extends to chairing the boards of ALCOR Scientific, Pathnostics, and Avantik, Inc., and serving on the boards of Hologic, Inc., and HCW Biologics, showcasing his deep commitment to advancing the healthcare industry.

Mr. Peter Neustadter

Mr. Neustadter was an early investor and consultant to Mobileye and served on its Board of Directors as the non-executive presiding officer until its sale to Intel in 2017. Peter was President and CEO of Durawool Inc., which developed and became the leading manufacturer of non-asbestos fibers for the automotive industry. He is currently Managing Director of Iat holdings LLC which invests in Israeli automotive technologies and International Automotive Trading, a financial advisory company. Today he is active in several startups and philanthropic institutions.

Mr. Chris Hibberd

Chris Hibberd has more than 20 years of industry experience, leading global organizations that deliver high medical value products. Chris serves as CEO and Executive Chairman of Nucleix, a liquid biopsy company revolutionizing cancer treatment by detecting the disease earlier. Prior to Nucleix, he was CEO and Co-Founder of Astute Medical, where he led the organization and securing of funding to support a product pipeline that included the launch of NephroCheck®, the first FDA cleared diagnostic for acute kidney injury risk, until its acquisition by bioMérieux. Mr. Hibberd previously served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at Biosite and earlier in his career, Chris was a manager at The Boston Consulting Group and a development engineer at Albright and Wilson Americas. He has an MBA from the University of Western Ontario and a B.A.Sc. in chemical engineering from the University of Toronto.

Mr. Hanina Brandes

Mr. Brandes is the founding and managing partner of Naschitz-Brandes, one of the leading law firms in Israel. Mr. Brandes has advised on some of Israel’s largest and most complex international commercial transactions. His clients include Israel’s leading public and private companies. Mr. Brandes is the chairman of the High-tech committee of the Israeli Bar, a member of the Board of Governors of Tel-Aviv University, as well as a member of the Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors of Tel-Aviv Museum of Art.

Haim Regev

Vice President, International

Haim has over 20 years of experience in leadership roles at MedTech companies. Prior to joining MeMed, Haim was CEO at Siemens Healthineers Israel where he led a talented team of Sales & Marketing, Customer Service, Clinical Application and Project Management. The company made significant growth and became the market leader in its fields. Haim was also a team member of the global VC group scouting the Israeli innovation ecosystem and building partnerships and investments. Prior to that, Haim served as a territory manager at Boston Scientific Israel.

Hila Hershkovitz

Vice President, Global Human Resources

Hila has over 18 years of experience in senior Human Resources (HR) leadership roles with fast growing tech companies in various stages. Prior to joining MeMed, Hila served as HR Business Partner for EMEA region at Amdocs, and for the Operation Innovation Unit where she oversaw all global HR activities. Prior to that, Hila worked with startups, including Flash Networks and Correlsense, and was responsible for the global HR strategy. Hila holds a B.A. in Social Work from Tel Aviv University and an MBA from Bar-Ilan University.

Tanya Gottlieb, MBA, PhD

Vice President, Scientific Affairs

Tanya has over 20 years of experience in academia and biotech, an expert in the strategic design and analysis of scientific and clinical research so that the resulting data can be leveraged to support product development, utility and adoption and raise non-dilutive funding. To date, as VP Scientific Affairs at MeMed, Tanya was responsible for raising over $30M in awards and contracts from the European Commission and US Department of Defense, and for ensuring that the projects were successfully completed. Tanya oversees the collection of clinical evidence and its dissemination in global academic conferences and publications. Before joining MeMed, Tanya was Director of Business Development at BiondVax Pharmaceuticals Ltd (NASDAQ: BVXV), an innovative start-up developing a universal flu vaccine, where she first became involved in initiatives to combat antimicrobial resistance, a mission that she continues to support at MeMed. Tanya conducted her postdoctoral research at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, WA, USA. She holds a B.A. in Natural Sciences and Ph.D. from Cambridge University, UK and an MBA from the Technion, Israel.

Troy Boutelle, MBA

General Manager MeMed USA, Vice President, Commercial North America

Troy has 20 years of experience in commercial leadership roles at life science companies in the US. Prior to joining MeMed, Troy was Vice President, Sales & Marketing at Eurofins-Viracor where he oversaw significant growth and multiple product launches. Troy’s previous positions include Commercial Leader at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where he led the commercial team for the Americas Microbiology business, managing a portfolio of over 4,000 products. Troy also serves as an adjunct professor at Bentley University where he teaches a course on sales and marketing.

Ariel Rubashkin

Chief Financial Officer

Ariel is a skilled Officer and Board Member with a progressive professional background of Accounting and Financial expertise of over 16 years of demonstrated history, working in publicly traded companies in NASDAQ as well as in TASE.

Ariel has extensive experience in Cash Management, Business Planning, M&A, SEC and TASE reporting and budgeting. Ariel joined MeMed from DarioHealth, a NASDAQ-listed global digital therapeutics company where he served as VP of Business Economics. Before DarioHealth, he served between 2014 to 2022 in various senior positions, including Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer and a Boardmember in AllMeD Solution, a TASE list company. Prior to AllMeD Solutions, he held several senior finance roles in Syneron Medical from 2007 through 2014. Before Syneron Medical, Mr. Rubashkin was a Senior Auditor at Ernest & Young. Ariel also serves as a Member of the Board of ENDYMED Medical (TASE Ticker: ENDY) and the local branch of Round Table, a non-profit organization. Ariel is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Economics from Haifa University and a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Tel-Aviv University.
